Combination heat exchanger and air scrubber
The cold fresh outside air is led through the air scrubber before entering the piglet house. The preheating of the outside air creates a warmer, drier and therefore healthier climate in the barn, particularly in the piglet departments. The heat exchanger was installed in a standard biological air scrubber, with a few small adjustments. An access hatch and a glass-fibre reinforced ladder make the complete installation accessible to the CBgroep technicians. The washing water from the biological air scrubber is cooled down, so that the use of a nitrite removal system in the wash water circuit is necessary to ensure a good and stable ammonia removal efficiency during the winter period. Therefore, CBgroep placed a drain flow reactor of the Draineater type.
